Sauti Sol singer Savara Mudigi is not planning to propose to his longtime girlfriend Yvonne Endo anytime soon.
Mudigi while speaking during an interview with SPM Buzz refused to bow to the pressure of proposing and the whole engagement thing.
The singer further explained why he will not be proposing to his Kenyan Japanese girlfriend.
“A ring is just a symbol of something. There are those with rings out here, and they are not happy,” he said.
Savara stressed that what he shares with Endo cannot be quantified with an engagement ring.
“For me, what I have with Yvonne is greater than a ring. Although it is a sign of commitment, I will not succumb to the pressure. I already put a ring on it in my heart. I don’t listen to haters as I solve my problems alone. And I keep my circle very small,” he said.
Savara’s girlfriend Yvonne Endo is a mixed Kenyan-Japanese artist cum designer who grew up in Nairobi and runs a luxury clothing line with her sister Patti Endo.
Endo is Kenyan born of a Japanese mum and a Kenyan dad. She was born in Tokyo but moved to Kenya when she was 6 years old and later moved to South Africa where she did her University Studies.
Savara and Yvonne Endo have been dating since 2018 though they broke up at one point and got back together.
The two officially made their relationship public in 2020.
