Chimano of Sauti Sol publicly come out as gay in December 2021 after years of hiding his true sexuality. He now wants to get married and have children.
The gay singer spoke on having children at a recent event graced by Sauti Sol. He said he will have kids at a later stage because he is currently focused on his music career.
“I’ll see. When I am in a situation that may allow me to, but for now no. I am still growing. Having kids for me is not a badge of honor that I need to wear proudly because having a kid is a responsibility. It’s something that will happen if it’s ever going to happen,” Chimano said during an interview with Mpasho.
His statement comes weeks after he opened up about his plan to settle down in marriage in utmost secrecy.
He said his wedding will be very private with only few people attending. Chimano noted no one will even realize that they have tied the knot because he doesn’t want his sweetheart to face social media bullies and that he also respect his private life.
“Are we expecting a wedding soon?” The interviewer asked Chimano.
“That one I will keep to myself for now. One step at a time. That part of my life am working hard to hide it. That’s one thing I will keep to myself. If at all you ever find out good for you. That part of my life is private because it involves other people who don’t want to be in the limelight,” Chimano responded.
