Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has publicly apologized to YouTuber Andrew Kibe, acknowledging that he failed to heed Kibe’s advice when he expressed interest in socialite Huddah Monroe.
In a video shared on his YouTube page, Salasya referred to Kibe as an elder and expressed regret for not listening to his guidance.
The apology comes after Salasya’s recent efforts to engage with Monroe.
“Mzee Kibe, I respect Andrew Kibe. I apologize, and from today, elder Andrew Kibe, I respect you beyond words, and you are now my elder,” Salasya said.
The MP clarified that his intentions towards Monroe were not romantic. Instead, he aimed to support her business ventures, even offering to market her products and help distribute them.
“I wanted to change the life of this little girl. I even offered to buy in bulk and distribute her products to other girls because I really like to change people’s lives,” he explained.
Salasya also emphasized that, as a leader, he distinguishes himself by being approachable and inclusive, interacting with all people regardless of their background.
He reflected on his time as a pastor for street children in Nakuru, underlining his commitment to uplifting those around him.
“I am the leader who is different from others, a leader who wants to interact with everyone. I have been a pastor for street children in Nakuru. I know we are all human, and I closed my eyes to many things to bring him to the presence of the internet,” Salasya said.
He added that he would often spend time advising Kibe to return to Kenya, offering words of encouragement.
