Gospel singer Ruth Matete has been a single mother to her daughter ever since she lost her husband in an accident.
The 2012 Tusker Project Fame star was widowed just five months into her wedding. She lost her husband Beloved John Olakami Apewajoye in a tragic accident on April 11th, 2020.
Matete’s late husband died from injuries he sustained after a fire accident at their home. He was admitted to Kenyatta National Hospital for two weeks before he succumbed to fire-related injuries while undergoing treatment.
Matete was grilled multiple times by police over the tragic incident. She was even summoned to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations headquarters.
At the end of it all, the 2012 Tusker Project Fame star was never charged as postmortem report collaborated her story. Pathologists concluded Apewajoye had 60% burns that triggered a condition called sepsis hence multiple organ failure.
In spite of the autopsy report, some people still accused Matete of having a hand in her husband’s death.
Two years after her husband’s death, the gospel singer is finally ready to move on and get into a new relationship.
The 37-year-old mother of one indicated on her Instagram page that she hopes to be a mum again before she turns 40 years.
Matete desires to have a baby boy and another girl or to just have twins.
The mother of one stated that she wants a good man to locate her so she can fulfill her dreams or otherwise she will go through the medical procedure.
“In three years, I will be 40 years. Wueh!! Na bado nataka nipatie Tolu brother na sister. Someone needs to find me we do this thing tumalize.
“Ama kuna a medical procedure to help me get twins? I would wish to finish that chapter by 40. Inawezekana ama am watching a lot of movies? Meet. Fall in love. Date. Engagement. Wedding. Pregnant. Babie,” she wrote.
