“Tissue tissue! Huyu alikuja Kenya kuperform ama kuhara?” A netizens asks Rosa Ree after complaining there are no water pipes for washing after using toilets in Kenya.
Tanzanian rapper Rosa Ree, currently on a Kenyan tour and charity drive, has recently expressed a deep and concerning observation about the state of Kenyan bathrooms.
The artist, who has a strong connection with Kenya due to having lived there for several years and being cool with multiple Kenyan dialects, has taken to social media to share her thoughts on the matter.
Rosa Ree’s latest Kenyan visit, began with a well-received announcement about her visit to a cancer center in Kariobangi.
Her Kenyan fans warmly welcomed her, considering her a part of their community, given her long-standing association with the country.
Her willingness to give back through charity work has further endeared her to her Kenyan supporters.
However, in a video shared on various platforms, Rosa Ree addressed an issue that caught her attention during her stay in Kenya, the absence of a specific component in Kenyan bathrooms, namely a water pipe, often used for personal hygiene purposes.
In her video message, Rosa Ree expressed her frustration with the absence of this essential fixture in Kenyan bathrooms.
She highlighted the importance of having a water pipe for cleaning purposes after using the toilet, which can be used in conjunction with toilet paper or on its own.
She exclaimed, “My dear Kenyans, we love you so much, but there’s a problem. How do you live without a water pipe in your bathrooms? It’s just tissue all over. When you enter the bathroom, all you see is lots of tissue, tissue here, tissue there.”
Rosa Ree raised concerns about the hygiene implications of relying solely on toilet paper for personal cleanliness.
She emphasized that it’s not just a matter of convenience but a matter of hygiene and cleanliness.
In the video, she demonstrated the lengths she has had to go to in order to address this issue, using a soda bottle filled with water for personal hygiene, highlighting the challenges faced by those accustomed to using a water pipe for cleanliness.
Rosa Ree’s video has sparked conversations about bathroom facilities and hygiene practices in Kenya as netizens go for her to demand some respect after her outburst.
