Well-wishers had raised Ksh600,000 for Colonel Mustafa as of Sunday, May 7, 2023.
Mustafa caught the attention of netizens after an undated video was shared online where he was seen working as a casual labourer at a construction site.
Later, a Twitter user identified as Fauz Khalid shared a phone number where well-wishers could donate and in a recent update he stated that so far, the ‘Lenga Stress’ rapper has surpassed half a million grant.
“We are at Ksh600,000 Those trying to send cash and failing should try after midnight as he has surpassed his daily limit A pay bill will be up by Monday I am speechless!! May Allah bless you all,” Khalid tweeted.

However, blogger-cum-politician Robert Alai has come out to warn Kenyans against donating to Colonel Mustafa.
The Kileleshwa MCA said Colonel Mustafa is just another Omosh who has been helped countless times without his situation improving.
“Don’t throw money at every problem. Sit down and review why Col Moustapha is where he is. How many times have you guys given Omosh money and even a house?
“Has that been the solution? What’s happening with Col? Money becomes a catalyst for destruction when the root cause hasn’t been revised well,” Alai tweeted.
