Robert Alai Defends Winnie Odinga For Refusing To Marry ‘Thieving Beggars’

Raila Odinga’s lastborn daughter Winnie Odinga came under fire over her comment about her potential suitors.

Winnie made it clear that she can’t get married to ‘thieving beggars’ saying it would be demeaning for her.

Raila’s daughter was responding to a social media user identified as Okworo Okworo, who suggested that her State House wedding dream is valid if she chooses to marry Farouk Kibet, Emmanuel Talam or Dennis Itumbi.

Robert Alai defended Winnie from trolls who were casting her over her comment.

“Winnie is our daughter and friend. She is not contesting to be the perfect Jesus Christ. She is human and imperfect. Let her be now. You didn’t speak before, stop pretending to speak now. Like they told us, GET OVER IT!” Alai tweeted.

Winnie jokingly said that she would get married in State House after her father is sworn in as President.

Speaking on October 12, 2021, when Raila was meeting Mount Kenya Youths at The University of Nairobi, Winnie assured Kenyans that she will be ready for marriage after her dad wins the presidential race.

“Tell them that I said, Winnie Odinga will get married in 2022, on the lawns of State House, And you are all invited, so if you want that to happen, go register to vote,” Winnie said.
