Edwin Chiloba’s killer, Jackton Odhiambo, has requested the court to release him immediately.
Jackton Odhiambo is among the five suspected culprits in the brutal murder of fashionista and LGBTQ+ activist Edwin Chiloba.
He has a wife and one child. Jackton works as a freelance photographer, brand influencer and high fashion model.
“I request to be released on bond so that I can continue with my work to support my family,” he said.
The suspects will stay behind bars and in custody, for three weeks, while investigations continue.
Chiloba’s dead body was found stuffed in a metal box in Kipkenyo, Eldoret.
The accused have been charged with murder and assisting in the transportation of Chiloba’s remains and discarding it.
Chief Inspector Stephen Mumba, the case’s main investigator, informed Senior Principal Magistrate, Richard Odenyo that an autopsy to determine the cause of Chiloba’s death had yet to be performed.
The police are looking into a potential love infidelity triangle well after primary suspect, Jackton Odhiambo, confessed to the murder after learning Chiloba had another lover.
Odhiambo, who was apprehended on Friday, admitted to murdering Chiloba for reportedly cheating on him.
