Prezzo and Jaguar have had the longest beef in the history of Kenyan showbiz, they ceased all hostilities in 2018 but they have renewed their rivalry once again in 2022.
The genesis of Prezzo and Jaguar’s beef is not clearly understood but Prezzo once said that Jaguar bad mouthed him just to gain mileage back then when he was still struggling.
2018 was a very special year in Kenyan politics and showbiz. President Uhuru Kenyatta and his former fiercest rival Raila Odinga shook hands on March 15th ending years of hostilities.
Following in Uhuru and Raila’s footsteps, Prezzo and Jaguar also took Kenyans by surprise in April when they met, shook hands and announced an end to all hostilities.
Jaguar and Prezzo sealed their ceasefire agreement by collaborating to release a song dubbed ‘Timika’.
The fragile ceasefire agreement between Prezzo and Jaguar has since been breached after three years of relative peace between the two musicians.
In the first major flare-up since the 2018 ceasefire which ended years of hostilities, Prezzo took a swipe at Jaguar over his statement about broke musicians.
Speaking during an interview on Mseto East Africa a week ago, Jaguar cautioned musicians to desist from seeking money from him.
The first time MP noted that broke musicians asking him for money are not voters in his Starehe constituency.
Prezzo has since blasted the Starehe MP over what he termed as turning his back on musicians after he was elected to Parliament.
Speaking during TV interview, Prezzo slammed Jaguar for not standing with artistes during his five-year tenure as Starehe MP.
Prezzo said that it is wrong for Jaguar to say that he did not go to parliament to present the musicians.
He added that if he is elected as MP (Prezzo is contesting for Kasarani parliamentary seat) unlike Jaguar, he will stand with the musicians through thick and thin.
“I will die with the artistes if elected MP. Why should you be elected then turn your back on the people you were within the same industry arguing that they didn’t employ you?” Prezzo posed.
He added that;
“Do you want to tell me that in Starehe where he (Jaguar) presents there are no artistes? The tongue is a very strong weapon, so before you utter a word, you need to think before you speak.”
