President Ruto says, LGBTQ will not happen under his watch in Kenya as the queer cry of discrimination.
Kenya has principles that must be cherished and safeguarded, according to Ruto, who revealed his stand today at during the Women Fund launch at KICC.
The pair stated that while they respected the courts, they would not permit this to occur.
The LGBT community in Kenya has been pushing and advocating for legalization, and both President William Ruto and his deputy, Rigathi Gachagua, have spoken out against the move.
DP Gachagua expressed disbelief and even apprehension about what to say.
“Do you know that there are times when you can be shocked until you have nothing to say? We are hearing that there is an organisation that wants to defend same-sex marriage. What is that?
“The President is a Christian and he will do what is needed. What they suggest is contrary to our belief. Therefore, we are not supporting that,” he reacted.
“We have no problem with the court but we have to ask what they imagine when a woman marries another woman. We do not have that and that is against our beliefs,” DP Gachagua said.
