A Mexican Mayor got a shock of his life after he was dragged away from his office by angry voters who voted for him after promising them that he would do a lot of things for them once he gets elected.
Mayor Oscar Ramirez Aguilar was confronted by his constituents in Frontera Comalapa, Mexico. The angry mob tied him to a tree and beat him.
The residents who came from the 11 different neighborhoods in Southern Mexico voted Mayor Oscar Ramirez on the promise that he would get a water tank for the community. The residents were tired of waiting for the obtainable drinking water that Ramirez promised them once he gets elected, but it didn’t come to pass and that’s why they decided to teach him a lesson.
Ramirez who was primarily elected by voters made a lot of promises with among those promises being bringing a water tank for the community.
According to local reports, Ramirez made campaign promises that made voters pick him over other candidates who were eyeing for the same elected position. He claimed that he would build quality, affordable housing along with his water purification promise.
Voters found out that the tank was in terrible condition and leaking as reported by local paper Cuarto Poder. This is the same tank that the community was expecting to benefit from.
This is why the angry protestors decided to take the matter into their own hands by tying the mayor to a tree.
The mayor who wore jeans, a white shirt, and a face mask was surrounded by angry voters who were calling him out for his service to his people.
He was a captive for two long hours before he was finally untied according to reliable reports.
He wasn’t set free until he promised to fix the tank as he promised.
