Police Forcefully Crack Down On Chimano’s Gay Event

LGBT community is crying foul after police shut down an event organized by Sauti Sol gay singer Willis Chimano.

Chimano’s event dubbed Love and Harmony had a lot of hiccups from the beginning, it was supposed to be held at Two Rivers Mall on Saturday February 26th but was moved to a new venue at the last minute.

Chimano moved his event to The Junction Mall without explaining the reason for the sudden change of venue.

However, Chimano’s Love and Harmony would not go down as planned as police got involved and shut him down.

Word has it police got wind that homosexuals would be gathering at Chimano’s events and decided to shut down the event.

Homosexuality is illegal in Kenya. The Kenyan Penal Code, which dates back to the British colonial period, holds liable to imprisonment any person involved in “unnatural offences” or “carnal knowledge against the order of nature” (up to 14 years), and any males involved in “indecent practices” (up to five years).

However, Chimano said that police informed him that they couldn’t allow him to hold the event due to ‘security reasons’.

The Sauti Sol singer lamented being bullied by authorities. He stressed that he wouldn’t be intimidated by shutting down his gigs.

“Bullies never win….. You’ve only made my resolve stronger. You may have gotten your cute little way this time but the show that I’ve been working so hard on will be seen! Take that as fact!…” wrote a distraught Chimano.

Popular lesbian Mx.Majic, who is dating singer Karen Lucas alias Kaz, confirmed that Chimano’s event was shut down by police because of homophobia.

“The “security reasons” they’ve used to deny this gathering is their homophobic hatred for all things under the rainbow,” Mx.Majic wrote in part.
