Amina Khalef filed for divorce from Alikiba at the Mombasa Kadhis’ Court on January 8th, 2022.
She cited neglect, stress, frustrations by in-laws, and infidelity as the reasons why she wanted the court to dissolve her marriage to the Tanzanian singer.
“The respondent (Ali Kiba) has made a mockery of their marriage by disrespectfully engaging in public displays of infidelity with various women in total disregard of the petitioner’s feelings,” said Amina Khalif in her affidavit.
Amina demanded a whopping Ksh200,000 monthly for the upkeep of their two children Keyaan and Kamran. She also wanted Alikiba to pay for a medical cover for his children.
Alikiba filed an injunction to stop his estranged Kenyan wife from seeking court order to compel him to pay her Ksh200,000 monthly upkeep.
Fast forward to May, Alikiba and Amina proved they were coparenting as the Bongo singer flew to Mombasa to celebrate the birthday of his younger son Kamran who turned one on May 16, 2022.
