Ida Odinga attended the burial ceremony of her bodyguard Barack Onyango Oduor who was fatally shot in Kisumu by the manager of the notorious Club Signature.
Onyango was killed on Thursday night October 13, 2022, by Collins Oulo Okundi.
Okundi fled to Eldoret after fatally shooting Onyango but police arrested him on October 16.
The suspect was found in possession of a pistol believed to be that of the slain officer recovered during the arrest.
Okundi is accused of grabbing the firearm of Onyango before shooting him dead.
The suspect is alleged to have confronted the slain officer who was in the company of a lady and another male friend, both of whom sustained gunshot wounds during the confrontation.
According to an inventory prepared by the DCI Eldoret West under whose jurisdiction the arrest was made, Okundi was found with a Jericho pistol bearing Kenya Police serial number believed to be the firearm assigned to the deceased.
Also recovered from him was a magazine and seven rounds of 9mm ammunition.
Ida Odinga on Thursday OCtober 27, 2022, joined mourners at the burial of her slain bodyguard to bid him the final goodbye.
