Only in August this year KRG The Don raised a furore after he displayed wads of cash in a vehicle.
Several people including Kileleshwa Member of County Assembly (MCA) Robert Alai condemned KRG’s action while others petitioned the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) to go after the musician.
Sure enough, the taxman was quick to go after KRG moments after netizens drew their attention to a video of the musician showing off lots of cash.
KRA posted the Bible verse Mark 12:17 (And Jesus answered and said to them, “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” And they marveled at Him) and said the message should get to the musician.
“Mark 12:17. Ifikie KRG ^KT,” KRA tweeted.
Adding; “Mambo imechemka! 🎶 ^KT”.
Fast forward to September 2023, KRG’s friend Dufla claims that the musician is flat broke, revealing that he only borrowed the money to show off.
In a post on social media, Dufla called on netizens to contribute money to KRG claiming that he is struggling.
“Huyu KRG alienda wapi? I told you pesa ilikuwa ya loan mkanikana sasa naskia jamaa anaagaika mbaya. Tafadhali kama kuna mtu anajua place ako amwambie atoe pay bill tutamsaidia angalau arudi town!!! Guys this is serious mzee ako mbaya!!!” Dufla wrote.
