Pastor Ng’ang’a says his sermons are not aimed at learned people but at the illiterate and academic dwarfs.
The controversial pastor slammed those who are trying to criticize his accent in Kiswahili and English which has been greatly affected by his native Kikuyu language.
In one of the videos, Ng’ang’a is seen giving a strong rant to those who criticize him and correct him in differentiating the pronunciation of the letters L and R, saying that his sermons are not aimed at them.
Ng’ang’a said that his sermons are specific to people who did not read, those who were imprisoned like him and those whose livelihood is from hands to mouth – groups of people whose main need is to get the word and not to pay attention to how the words are pronounced.
“Usikae hapo ukinirekebisha hapo nimeweka R, hapo nimeweka L, zima runinga yako na ufungue ile runinga yenye matamshi yanafuatana vile ulifunzwa chuo kikuu. Lakini wale mko jela, wale tulikuwa jela nao, wale wa mkokoteni na wale maskini, mnisikilize. Mimi ndio nimetoboa, nimefika hapa nimefika naweza nikatoa ushauri kwenu jinsi ya kufaulu. Hata wale hamkusoma,” Ng’ang’a said.
The pastor shouted at those who consider themselves intellectuals who do not understand Kiswahili and asked them to turn off their televisions to follow the sermons on English channels.
“Wale hamjui Kiswahili mtajifundisha kama vile mimi najifunza kizungu. Na kama hautasikia Kiswahili tafuta mhubiri mwingine wa kizungu atakusaidia mwendelee. Si lazima wanyama wote wafanane, kuna punda na kuna farasi. Wale wa Kiingereza, zima runinga zenu na mfungulie runinga zenye mtapata ujumbe wa kuelewa,” he said.
The Neno Evangelism church founder added that his message is aimed at all those who have been looked down upon as long as they only know how to count from one to 10.
“Kama unajua kuhesabu tutapelekana, kama hujui, wewe rudi nyumbani. Mimi nakushauri njia ya kufanikiwa bora ujue kuhesabu. Nitakufundisha kuhesabu laki moja, ukifaulu nakupeleka hadi laki tano, hivyo hivyo,” he said.
