Kambua ended her 12 year career as the host of Citizen TV’s gospel show ‘Gospel Sunday’ on January 16th 2022 to the surprise of everyone.
The celebrated gospel singer broke down in tears as she bid her fans goodbye while in company of co-host duo of DJ Gee Gee and Timeless Noel.

Citizen TV’s Gospel Sunday is also hosted by gospel musician Karwirwa Laura and Ken the DJ.
“We move from seasons to seasons and today, I would like to take a bow and I want to hung my boots, to all of you who have allowed me to come into your home for the last 12 years. Thank you for allowing me to come into your homes, and to minister, it has been a beautiful journey,” Kambua said.
Kambua’s unexpected announcement about her retirement sparked a flurry of comments from fans and fellow celebrities alike.
“Today, as team Gospel Sunday, we say goodbye to the longest-serving heroine of the team – the very lovely @kambuamuziki. It’s been a beautiful 12 year journey. A journey that has encouraged souls, inspired hope and paved the way for many. We love you Kambua and we’ll miss you.
“I particularly thank you in a special way, for that heartfelt conversation in your kitchen where you encouraged me that I could do this while doubt and fear clouded my heart and mind. You have made it possible for me sis. And I will keep standing, firm, a part of your sturdy LEGACY. I love you ♥ We love you ♥,” Gospel Sunday host Karwirwa Laura wrote.
Rev Cathy Kiuna commenting on Kambua’s Instagram post wrote “You are blessed. God will direct you always”.
