Pastor Ezekiel Odero was finally released from police custody after spending 7 days behind bars.
The controversial preacher was released on a bond of Kshs 3 million or a cash bail of 1.5 million on Thursday.
After his release, Pastor Ezekiel proceeded to meet his congregants at his New Life Prayer Center in Mavueni for a worshipping session and while addressing them, he urged them to forgive all those who are involved in the case that is facing him.
“Nyinyi ni waajabu mnakaa kama siafu. Ninawawaomba mnisikize tusamehe. Usihesabie mtu makosa. Sisi New Life kila mmoja aliyetufanyia haya tumesamehe roho safi. Kama ni mwanamke mmewe asipitie haya na kama ni mwanamme mkewe asipitie haya. Watoto wake wabarikiwe, nyumba yake ibarikiwe,” the preacher said.
“Kwa yote yaliyotendeka, nataka nyienyi watu wa Mavueni muwe na upendo namba moja kwasababu hili kanisa liko hapa lakini ni la kimataifa. Yeyote ambaye umeona kwa kipindi hicho amefanya kitu ambacho hupendi naomba uinue mikono miwili useme nimemsamehe,” he added.
Among the crimes that Pastor Ezekiel is being accused of include indoctrination of his believers, mass killing and money laundering.
