Robert Alai has promised to close all clubs in his Kileleshwa ward once Nairobi County Assembly starts dispensing its duties.
Alai, who was elected Kileleshwa MCA on an ODM party ticket, says that the clubs have been making a lot of noise in the leafy suburb.
The clubs Alai want shut include; Bar Next Door, Numero 5, Hera Aqua Gardens, Kettle House and Samaki Samaki.
The Kileleshwa MCA-elect wants the clubs to move to Nairobi CBD arguing that they are traumatizing kids in Kileleshwa doing homework.
“After swearing in, we have a list which must be acted on ASAP. It’s Kileleshwa. They must go. Clubs like Numero 5, Samaki Samaki, The Bar Next Door, Hera Aqua Gardens and Kettle House should all move to the CBD. They are traumatising children doing their homework,” Alai tweeted.

Alai’s tweet sparks concerns from club owners who have panicked following the politician’s call have the entertainment joints closed.
Responding to the concerns, Alai stressed that residential areas should remain purely for living and shouldn’t host bars and clubs.
“Seen my tweet on bars in the residential areas has aroused lots of interests. We must make residential areas good for bringing up a family. We shouldn’t have a situation. Where everything goes. We need to have entertainment districts reserved for the clubbing,” Alai tweeted.
