Obinna Speaks On Challenges Of Working At Kiss FM After Only Two Months Of Employment

Obinna beat competition from fellow comedians Dr Ofweneke, Tumbili and Owago Onyiro to be picked to replace Jalang’o on Kiss FM.

Jalang’o quit Kiss FM in February 2022 to contest for Langata parliamentary seat in the forthcoming August 9th general election.

The vacancy left by Jalang’o was fiercely contested by comedians who were seeking to fill his shoes at Kiss FM.

Obinna, however, emerged as the victor and he ultimately started working at Kiss FM on March 7, 2022.

The Kiss FM presenter has since come out to speak about the challenges of working at the popular radio station.

“Kuamka is the first challenge, then the second one is me brunching into more Kiswahili because I’m known for speaking more English but now I have to switch up because of our audience. We are speaking to young guys and most of them nowadays don’t speak a lot of English. It’s been crossing over and that’s what I’m working on currently,” Obinna said.

He also stated that he was obliged to utilize Swahili while hosting the show. This is due to the fact that his radio show with co-host Kamene Goro mostly targets the youth.

The Kiss FM presenter also commended his co-host Kamene for ensuring the success of their morning show.

“She has been the reason why the Morning Kiss is working. She is very accommodative and very patient. She also guides me and gives me a couple of pointers… it’s been a short period but have learned a lot. She is a dope person and she has made it easy for me,” he said.
