Kiss 100 presenter Oga Obinna was a very worried man until it was confirmed that Jalang’o had won the Lang’ata MP race.
Obinna was disturbed by false social media reports that Jalang’o had lost to the incumbent MP Nixon Korir who was seeking to be re-elected.
“I knew he would win, but you know on Tuesday, when those people were doing those things on Twitter, I couldn’t even sleep, my stomach was turning. In the morning I went to work, I was telling Kamene I don’t know where to place my head,” Obinna said.
He joked that he had a go-bag packed and ready in case Jalas came back to Kiss FM.
The reason why Obinna was worried sick is because Jalang’o was assured of getting back his former job at Kiss FM if his bid to clinch the Lang’ata seat was unsuccessful.
Obinna beat other contestants including Dr. Ofweneke to replace Jalang’o who quit his job at Kiss FM to focus on politics.
Jalang’o quit his job on February 9th to intensify his campaign for the Lang’ata parliamentary seat.
He officially joined Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party on July 15th 2021 and was received by the party’s Secretary General Edwin Sifuna.
Speaking during an interview with Kiss FM, Jalang’o said that he would be back on studio at Kiss FM if he lost in his bid to be Lang’ata MP.
“In my life, I have never done anything that I have to lose. God forbid…if I lose, is that the end of the world? We pick up from where we left and move on. I have even been made to sign a very hard contract here…that if I lose, the next day I will be in the studio,” Jalang’o said.
