Obinna Opens Up About Losing His Popular Channel: “I Signed A Deal With The Devil”

YouTuber and comedian Oga Obinna is getting candid about the heartbreak of losing his beloved YouTube channel, Obinna TV Show, which boasted a staggering 560,000 subscribers.

In a recent interview, Obinna revealed that he lost the channel — and millions in revenue — after making a grave mistake in a business deal.

Obinna explained that about six or seven months ago, he signed a contract with a client without thoroughly reading the fine print, a move he now deeply regrets.

“I have not been making money from Obinna TV Show in the last six to seven months. I signed a deal with the devil,” the comedian confessed, though he opted not to share the specific details of the deal gone wrong.

Fortunately, Obinna has recently regained control of the channel, but the damage was done.

In the months following the loss of his main channel, Obinna pivoted to his backup, Obinna TV Extra, which has since grown to 287,000 subscribers.

“This page was making me millions, but I did not give up on my work,” Obinna said, reflecting on his difficult journey.

He credited friends like Sauti Sol’s Bien and his lawyer Willis Otieno for helping him navigate the situation.

“After my lawyer read the contract, he told me, ‘My guy, hapa umejipiga stick,’” he admitted.

Now, Obinna is using his experience as a cautionary tale for fellow content creators.

His advice? Always have a lawyer review any contract before signing it.

“Content creators, own your mistakes, then don’t sign any contract without letting a lawyer go through it,” he warned, adding that his own misstep had cost him months of income and stress.

While Obinna’s setback was significant, his resilience is evident as he continues to thrive with his new channel. This experience has only strengthened his resolve to keep pushing forward.
