Akamba gospel musician Stephen Kasolo has distanced himself from Diana Marua’s iPhone that was stolen during the luxurious wedding of Fashion Designer Bolo Bespoke.
Kasolo said that he didn’t steal the phone as he left the event very early to attend another event in Nairobi.
“I started hearing stories last week that Diana’s phone was found at my place. I wondered how it that was possible because I left the event early. I am so annoyed,” he said in an interview.
Following the accusations that emerged from TikTok, Kasolo says he reached out to Bahati who was also left wondering who came up with the claims. Kasolo is however disappointed that Bahati did not call him to hear him out.
He noted that during the wedding, he was seated behind Idah Odinga, while Bahati and Diana were seated at the front so there is no way he could have accessed Diana’s phone. Kasolo says that the phone might have disappeared at night when people were merry-making and drinking.
“I don’t go to night events,” he said.
Kasolo added that those behind the allegations are just out to ruin his reputation therefore affecting his brand negatively.
“This thing has really affected my brand. If I call Obinna, he doesn’t pick my call. He was the MC of the day. Recently in his show with Dem wa Facebook he said Diana lost her phone no wonder Kasolo left early. I am very sure it was a joke but people don’t take it the way Obinna takes it. People think Kasolo went with the phone,” he said.
He went on to showcase his high-end phones he owns, noting that there is no possible reason for him to have taken Diana’s phone.
“Nichukuwe iphone nipeleke wapi. Kama ni kuiba ningeiba wakati nilikuwa mdogo maana niliteseka sana,” he said adding that right now he can’t go hungry because he has many friends who are well off.
“May God punish and silence whoever is spreading those lies,” he added and proceeded to share the effects that the allegations have had on him.
“I am a TV presenter at Ngumbau TV, how do people view me when they see me on TV? People are calling me on TV saying they heard I stole a phone. There are people who don’t understand. My child also has a phone and is very wise, and when she encounters such allegations they affect her including my wife, my family and all those who love me.”
