Nadia Mukami has come out to caution musicians who are also seeking to tap into the millions YouTube pays as revenue to content creators.
Content creators are minting serious money from YouTube and some are even living a more flamboyant lifestyle than many musicians.
So many musicians are now concentrating on content creation, turning their YouTube channels into vlogs.
Musicians don’t earn as much from music videos uploaded on YouTube because they are short and take a lot of money to shoot.
YouTube pay is determined by watch hours, the time viewers spend watching videos on a particular channel. This explains why some musicians have now resorted to content creation.
However, Nadia Mukami has come out to warn musicians who are focused on YouTube content creation that the space is becoming too congested with everyone now seeking to be a content creator.
The sultry singer advised musicians to instead focus on music streaming which offer more revenue than YouTube.
“As artists it’s time we realized YouTube is getting very competitive because now we have a million content creators. Streaming is the future for musicians,” wrote Nadia Mukami.
Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, Boomplay Music are among the most popular music streaming sites which also may artists lots of money in revenue.
