Shock engulf Mombasa bus station after a woman was found dead in a bus she had traveled in.
The deceased, Salma Yusuf, reportedly traveled from Eldoret to Mombasa.
Yusuf’s lifeless body was found after the bus she traveled in, Dreamline Express, arrived in Mombasa.
One of the bus’s passengers who spoke to The Standard said that Yusuf had complained of a severe headache throughout their journey.
“She occasionally said that she needed medical attention. Other passengers, however, thought she was in a position to persevere and get medical help once in Mombasa,” the informant told the publication.
According to the informant, the deceased told her she was working in Qatar had traveled to Eldoret to visit her brother.
“She (Yusuf) revealed that she worked as a supermarket attendant in Qatar and had recently gone to Eldoret to meet her brother before she could fly out of the country this weekend,” the source told The Standard.
The deceased relative told the publication that Yusuf’s body was taken to the Coast Provincial General Hospital morgue awaiting burial scheduled for Friday, August 27.
“Yesterday (Thursday, August 26), we had waited for her arrival for long before receiving a phone call from the bus attendants informing us that Salma died during the journey,” the relative said.
