Akuku Danger has come out to send a passionate plea to Kenyans to help him as he remains detained in hospital.
The comedian was discharged from Nairobi West hospital on June 20, 2022, but could not be released to go home because of the huge bill.
He was admitted to the facility on June 8 after falling sick again. His medical bill accrued to a whopping Ksh823,000 after deductions from his insurance.
“@itsakukudanger the Comedian has been admitted at Nairobi west Hospital for the past two weeks and has since accrued a bill of Kshs 823,000/= after deductions from his Insurance and cash deposits too.
“He got discharged Yesterday but the hospital is Detaining him until he pays the remaining balance. The hospital has refused to accept a collateral so that he can organize his finances from outside despite having their collateral from the January bill which has a higher value than the total bill,” Akuku’s girlfriend Sandra Dacha wrote.
Dacha further pleaded for well-wishers to help them in any way.
“Anyone willing to help in anyway please reach us,” she added.
Akuku himself has since come out to reiterate Dacha’s message as he pleaded for help to offset his medical bill.
“I never asked to be in this position, half of this year has been months and months of hospital admissions due to sickle cell anaemia which has since drained me both mentally, financially and even physically and that’s why I come to you guys seeking help.
