Sonko was forced to show off Ksh32 million in cash after a relative exposed him.
The former Nairobi governor went on a ranting spree in a video he shared online after clashing with the close relative.
Sonko angrily displayed cash stashed in boxes, reacting to a distant relative who claimed the former Nairobi governor conned him after they did a joint business.
The relative accuses Sonko of being a fraudster and has no money of his own.
He further claimed that Sonko was broke that’s why he was not helping his daughters financially.
“Ati sina pesa kwa sababu ati sisaidii watoto. Nani amekuambia above 18 ni mtoto? Mtu amezaa? Amesomeshwa akamaliza? Nko na pesa lakini sio pesa ya kuaribu na watoto. Pesa ya kuaribu mabibi zangu. Wacha nkuonyeshe mshenzi wewe takataka ghasia nongwe shenzi type, kumbavu wewe,” Sonko ranted.
“Hii ni pocket money hii ni milioni mbili ya mafuta pale kuna milioni thelathini, shenzi wewe, kunguru,” he added.
Sonko further told the relative that he will cater for his burial should he died ahead of him.
“Hizi ukikufa mbele yangu, Mungu akikuchukua mbele yangu hii ni zile ntakununulia sanduku nkupeleke Embu huku shenzi,” he said.
In a quick rejoinder, the unnamed relative hit back at Sonko saying he has been a conman since his days as a teenager.
The relative claimed that Sonko stole his father’s Mercedes Benz, sold the car and went on a drinking spree with his friends in Kwale.
“Boss usituringie na mali na nakumbuka ata Benz ya babako uliiba ukauza tukiwa tunakuona ukaenda ukalewa hizo pesa na akina Steve huko Kwale ukaisha. Unasema hukutegemea babako na ata wewe ulianza utapeli mbaka kwa boma? Mimi nakujua bwana mimi nakujua vizuri sana,” the relative said in a viral audio.
The relative further wondered why Sonko conned him after they did a joint business yet he is a billionaire.
“Acha kujaribu kuniblackmail na vitisho yako ndogo ndogo hapa. Si unipatie hio pesa. Ungekua umetulipa hakuna mtu angeongelesha mwingine. Sisi tulifanya biashara yetu, hatukutaka pesa yako mshahara yako ya hoteli tulijitafutia pesa. Sasa wewe ukiona pesa ya watu unaingia tamaa. Mtu mwenye mabilioni kweli anaingia tamaa ya pesa kidogo? Stima zinakatwa mbaka kwa hoteli? Ahhh umezoea hio ni tabia mbaya,” the relative ranted.
