Millie Odhiambo Reacts To Pastor Dorcas’ Tears After Gachagua’s Impeachment: “We Know That Pain All Too Well!”

Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo has shared a heartfelt response to Pastor Dorcas Gachagua’s emotional breakdown following the impeachment of her husband, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

The DP, in a press conference on Sunday, October 20, 2024, detailed his ordeal after his security was withdrawn, leaving him feeling vulnerable and isolated.

Gachagua, speaking after being discharged from Karen Hospital, told journalists that his security detail at both his Karen and Nyeri residences had been disarmed.

He expressed concern over the perceived “viciousness” of the move, accusing President William Ruto of abandoning him.

“I have been here alone without a single officer looking after me. All officers close to me were disarmed and warned to stay away. The Deputy President is without security,” Gachagua stated, adding that he believed Ruto should be held responsible if anything happened to him or his family.

During the emotional press briefing, Gachagua’s wife, Pastor Dorcas, was seen wiping tears, visibly shaken by her husband’s account of events.

Millie Odhiambo, in a Facebook post, responded to the images of Pastor Dorcas in tears, expressing empathy and reflecting on her own painful experiences in Kenyan politics.

Odhiambo revealed that she, too, had faced cycles of grief, recounting the bitter moments from past elections.

“I have been very active in four electoral cycles. In each of them, we have cried bitterly behind closed doors,” the Suba North legislator wrote. She recalled her pain during the controversial 2022 election, where she had distanced herself from political news and WhatsApp groups to cope with the emotional toll.

Referencing the “hot air, wild goose chase” remark—an infamous comment made during the 2022 election aftermath—Odhiambo said it had cut deeply. “We know that pain!!!!” she added, signaling her understanding of Pastor Dorcas’ current emotional struggle.

Odhiambo’s words resonated with many, serving as a reminder that political battles often leave behind emotional scars, felt deeply by the families of those involved.
