“Friends” of Edwin Chiloba, missed his burial ceremony at his home in Elgeyo Marakwet.

The overwhelming majority of those who had criticized the government and the Constitution for not safeguarding LGBTQ members; and the public at large for being discriminatory in the wake of Edwin Chiloba’s murder were absent from the funeral service for the late fashion icon, model and activist Chiloba.

Many Kenyans questioned where these speakers were when local media outlets covered the popular model’s last journey ceremony.

As local media outlets covered Chiloba’s last rite, many Kenyans questioned where these individuals had gone. Michelle Ntalami had to explain why she hadn’t attended the burial.

As local media outlets covered Chiloba’s last rite, many Kenyans questioned where these individuals had gone.

Michelle Ntalami has explained why she didn’t attended the burial at Chiloba’s home in Sergoit Village, Elgeyo Marakwet.

Steven Starboy questioned the alleged friendships, saying, “Where are those LGBTQ activists who claimed to be her friends? Makena Njeri, Michelle Ntalami, Dennis Karuri, Chiki Kuruka? It was all a gimmick to gain international sympathy?”

Miss Ntalami says, “First of all, address him proper; HIS friends. Secondly, you don’t know any facts for you to be running your mouth like this. Some of us showed up and paid our respects in ways you may not be privy to.”

Michelle announced on social media that she was in Nairobi for a vigil held in memory of the late Chiloba.

“Those who didn’t or couldn’t manage to don’t love him any less! You are one of those keyboard warriors just waiting to see who attended and who didn’t just to make people look bad. How about you post a tribute for Edwin Chiloba and remember him in love instead of all this bitterness? If not, let him rest. He is loved, and his love WINS!”
