Tanzanian Bongo Flava star Mbosso Khan has addressed critics who claim he will lose popularity following his departure from Diamond Platnumz’s WCB-Wasafi music label.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Wasafi Digital, the ‘Hodari’ hit maker expressed a deep reliance on faith, saying his musical journey is ultimately in God’s hands.
“Some people are waiting to see me lose relevance in the entertainment industry,” Mbosso said.
“But I am someone who entirely depends on God for His blessings. It is possible that I may lose relevance or fade from the limelight, but only if God has destined it to be so. If He has planned for me to succeed, I will.”
Mbosso’s comments come amid public speculation that his exit from WCB-Wasafi, the label founded by Diamond Platnumz, might affect his career trajectory.
The singer, known for blending traditional Tanzanian sounds with contemporary rhythms, has amassed millions of streams globally and cultivated a devoted fan base during his tenure with the label.
Beyond his career, Mbosso also opened up about his long-standing health struggles.
He revealed that he has battled heart complications linked to high blood pressure since his teenage years.
Despite concerns from close family members and friends regarding his health, the artist maintained a philosophical outlook.
“There will come a day when God will take me. But I pray that when that day comes, it will be a peaceful end for me,” he said.
Mbosso’s transparency about both his career and personal challenges has resonated with many fans, sparking conversations across social media about resilience, faith, and the unpredictability of fame.
While the future of his career post-WCB remains to be seen, the artist’s steadfast belief in divine guidance underscores his approach to both his music and life.
