Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has endorsed Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua for the Deputy President post.
According to Kuria, Karua is best suited for the position because of her great personality.
“I want to endorse Martha Karua for the position of the Deputy President. She has the integrity, she has the stamina, she has a sterling record as a crusader for both multi partism and human rights,” the lawmaker said.
The Chama Cha Kazi leader argued that the Narc Kenya leader is the best person to lead Mt. Kenya region and champion its interest in any political outfit that seeks to gain votes from the region.
Kuria said the endorsement is a good move since the region has not settled on their kingpin after the exit of president Uhuru Kenyatta.
This comes after Karua denied being approached for the deputy president position.
She is set to battle with other aspirants in the Kirinyaga gubernatorial contest.
“I have said that I am only vying here for the gubernatorial seat, then you should believe me and stop asking around. I can tell you standing here, no one has requested me to be their deputy,” Karua told the press on Saturday October 24.
Karua is expected to face governor Anne Waiguru and the county’s Women Rep Purity Ngirici.
According to Karua, most presidential aspirants will settle on their running mates in May 2022.
“You can vie for a Deputy President’s seat, you’ll have to float in the air until May next year awaiting a candidate to have mercy on you,” she said.
