Boniface Mwangi has broken silence after being released from custody without any charges.
The activist was arrested on Sunday morning in front of his children for allegedly inciting Kenyans to protest.
Taking to social media after being released from Kamukunji police station, he noted that intimidating him will not stop him from pursuing his course.
He went on to detail three things that Kenyans must focus on.
“Moving forward, Mambo Ni Matatu, that active citizens must focus on;1. Justice. 2. Right To Citizenship. 3. Accountability,” Mwangi wrote.
On Justice, Mwangi called for the prosecution of former IG of police Japheth Koome and the field commanders who were on duty when peaceful protesters were murdered during nationwide protests. He added that Inetrior CS Kithure Kindiki is unfit for office.
“Arrest and prosecution of individual officers who discharged their firearms unlawfully. Compensation for victims of the police killings. Interior Minister Kithure Kindiki isn’t fit to hold public office. Under his leadership, citizens have been abducted and murdered, and there has been a dramatic increase in femicides. Promoting him to Deputy President for murdering children is entrenching impunity and lawlessness,” he stated.
About right to Citizenship, Mwangi protested the idea of charging Kenyans for ID Cards.
“It’s important that all Kenyans who have reached the age of 18 get issued with a voters card. It’s unconstitutional and illegal to deny citizens ID cards. Demand IDs and voters cards,” he wrote.
“His manifesto. Implementation of all constitutional reports. Debt audit. He fired incompetence and rehired rapists, murderers, and drug dealers. And most importantly, Ruto Must Go is the clarion call. The struggle continues,” Mwangi further said on the issue of accountability.
