Former Tahidi High actor Dennis Mugo, popularly known as OJ, has come clean on how the hit TV show affected his dating life.
OJ revealed that he really struggled to find love because of his role on Tahidi High.
Speaking during an interview with YouTuber Mungai Eve, OJ narrated how playing a rude boy on the former Citizen TV show negatively impacted his dating life.
The actor said many women turned him down when he made advances on them because they could separate his role on TV and his character in real life.
OJ said he stayed single for a long time before he met his baby mama who gave him a chance.
“People take that character that they associate with you to be who you are. Watu walikua wanajua tu huyu jamaa ni rude boy which is not the case. Saa zingine huboo, una approach dem anakuangalia tu zile za mhh ehhh. One nko na madem wengi, two wee ni playboy, three wee ni rudeboy. Yani unamwangalia tu zile ‘si sawa basi, jinice’. So before ata niget baby mama nilikaa single for a minute,” OJ said.
OJ currently works for the Embu government in the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports, specifically in the Talent Academy.
He also opened up about his long battle with alcoholism and how it ruined opportunities for him.
