Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o secured a landslide victory in Kisumu gubernatorial race to earn a second term in office.
The incumbent governor faced off with his predecessor Jack Ranguma who was trying to make a comeback after losing the seat to Nyong’o in 2017.
Lupita’s father won decisively in the 2022 Kisumu governor race, securing a staggering 80 per cent of the total votes cast.

Lupita Nyong’o couldn’t keep calm after her father won re-election with a landslide victory.
The Hollywood actress took to social media to congratulate her father on winning decisively.
Lupita shared a photo of her dad and captioned, “Abich moro! Congratulations to my Daddy and thank you to the people of Kisumu for their overwhelming support at the polls. #5moro #TichTire.”.
