Lulu Hassan has shared the last moments she had with Sultana actress Bwire Ndubi before she succumbed to cancer.
During Bwire’s memorial service that was held on Sunday in Mombasa, Lulu revealed that she wasn’t aware the actress was bidding her farewell through a gesture of sending her package.
“A few days before she went to Turkey for treatment, she repeatedly urged me and mentioned that she and her mother had a gift for me. I told her to focus on her treatment first and assured her that I would receive the gifts when she returned,” she recalled.
Bwire however ensured that the gift is delivered to the Citizen TV News anchor and her former boss.
“She wanted to know where I was so she could send the package. At that time, I was on the South Coast. True to her word, I received a box full of gifts. If I had read that message more carefully, I would have understood that she was bidding farewell,” Lulu said.
Lulu and her husband Rashid Abdalla are owners of Jiffy Pictures, a company that produced Sultana, where Bwire played the role of Dida.
She lost the battle to breast cancer earlier on September 5, 2024.
During the same event, her ex husband Dan Sonko was emotional saying her death had left her speechless.
“Our prayer was she would come out of this victorious, and I guess in God’s own way, this is a form of victory because there is no more pain for her, but there is pain right here. I have nothing to say,” the father of two said.
