Governors have already decided which camp they’re going to choose ahead of the 2022 Presidential elections between Orange Democratic Movement(ODM) Party leader Raila Odinga and Deputy President and UDA Party leader William Ruto.
At the moment, DP Ruto only has a handful loyal Governors who are totally in support of his presidential bid in 2022.
The list of Governors who supports DP Ruto are; Kirinyaga Givernor, Anne Waiguru, Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok, Narok Governor Samuel Tunal, Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago and Nandi Governor Stephen Sang.
Governor’s allied ot the Deputy President are a handful but not the one allied to Raila Odinga.
The Governors who are allied to Raila Odinga met him at the Azimio La Umoja meeting in Naivasha earlier on today. Raila Odinga has 30 Governors who have blessed his candidature ahead in 2022.
“In every society, there must always be capital owners; those owning mills and production, and those who are employed. You do not deprive the rich to enrich the poor, you create opportunities for the poor to become rich. This is what we want to do,” Raila Odinga said on 17 January 2021 during the meeting.
On 17th day of January 2022, Raila Amolo Odinga met with 26 Governors in Naivasha. The other four Governors sent their apologies but signed the declaration indicating their support for the former Prime Minister.
“This has been a consultative meeting between the governors and the fifth as we assured him of our support and discuss the way forward with regards to the Presidential elections. There were 30 of us present and a couple of us who were absent with apology,” Laikipia Governor Ndiritu Mureithi stated.

Raila Odinga was humbled by the support he was bestowed by the 26 County Governors who were present and 30 in total.

I’m encouraged by the positive sentiments expressed by Governors at our meeting today.” he expressed his sentiments on social media.
