The Kenya Meteorological Department has issued a 7-day cumulative rainfall forecast predicting heavy rainfall and storms across the country from March 25 to March 31, 2025.
According to the latest advisory, significant rainfall is expected in Central and Western Kenya, as well as parts of the Rift Valley.
Some areas may experience over 50mm of rainfall in just 24 hours, with the intensity expected to increase as the week progresses.
The forecast warns of potential isolated heavy downpours, thunderstorms, and flash floods, particularly in low-lying areas. Residents are urged to take precautions to protect property and lives.

- High Temperatures: Coastal, Northeastern, and Northwestern Kenya will see daytime temperatures exceeding 30°C, with potential heatwaves. Residents are advised to stay hydrated, wear light clothing, and avoid outdoor activities during peak sun hours.
- Low Temperatures: The Central Highlands and parts of the Central Rift Valley will experience nighttime temperatures dropping below 10°C, prompting residents to prepare for cold conditions.
