Laikipia Insecurity: Powerful And Foreign Guns Being Used By Militias

A number of people have taken the government head on after it emerged that foreign and powerful guns are being used to attack innocent people in Laikipia.

Rift Valley Regional Commissioner George Natembeya on Tuesday admitted that it was difficult to fight the militias since our police were using average guns unlike the bandits.

“While our officers are using AK47 and G3 rifles, the bandits (in Laikipia) are using M16s and other heavy rifles which are usually used by foreign armies who come for training in Kenya. We don’t know how they get these heavy weapons.” He said.

Apparently, there are claims that foreign organizations are fully aware of whatever is going on in Laikipia.

“MILITIAS NOT BANDITS. Those raiding Laikipia are Militias sponsored by foreign organizations purporting to be doing conservation in Kenya. They get bullets from NRA in USA.

Conservationists including Malema have petitioned something and the NRA is in the peak of collapsing. Wakenya hamjui kitu nyinyi. They just need land to do wildlife trade, nothing else.” Said a concerned Kenyan.

At the same time, aggrieved Kenyans not only accused the government of knowing whatever is going on at Laikipia but also urged them to arrest the situation.

“The government knows the cause for insecurity in Laikipia, but it doesn’t want to address it because it is in bed with the problem.” Said one Eric Latiff while speaking at Spice FM.
