A 27-year old man will be arraigned to court on Monday August, 2021 for the brutal murder of a 4-year old girl in Kirinyaga.
DCI report on the case states that Gabriel Muchira Muriithi defiled the deceased before murdering her and then throwing her body along the banks of River Karani approximately 200 meters from where the girl went to school.
“Gabriel Muchira Muriithi, the monster behind the gruesome murder of the little angel was flushed out of his hideout following scrupulous investigations by detectives based in Kirinyaga East, augmented by their Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB) counterparts,” DCI report reads.
Ruth Wanjiku Kimani went missing on Monday, August 9, on her way home in company of a fellow pupil after attending school. She was a student Mugumo primary school.
According to her colleague, Wanjiku was called by the suspect who then left with her.
On August 11, her body was discovered at around 4 pm after a two day long search.
Forensic examination conducted at the crime scene by DCI detectives indicate the victim was defiled before she was murdered. Postmortem conducted on her body also confirmed the same.
Elsewhere, a prison warder who wanted to kill his girlfriend for defrauding him Kshs. 900, 000 was transferred to Igembe after he was arrested at a house in Kisii estate, Thika on Friday.
The suspected is said to have confided in his colleagues on his plan to finish off the Mt. Kenya student.
According to a detective who sought anonymity, they informed the police as well as the woman in question so that she could take caution.
The prison warder who was attached to Kangeta GK Prison in Meru County recorded a statement at the Thika Police Station.
