Former Citizen TV journalist Kimani Mbugua has come forward with a heartfelt plea for assistance, shedding light on his ongoing struggle with bipolar mood disorder and its devastating impact on his life since 2020.

In a candid social media video, Mbugua opened up about his battle with mental health, the loss of his career, and his current dire circumstances after being jobless for over two years.

In the emotional video, Kimani Mbugua revealed that his journey with mental illness began in 2020 when he was diagnosed with bipolar mood disorder. This diagnosis marked a turning point in his life, causing significant disruptions to his career and overall well-being.

The past few years have taken a heavy toll on Mbugua. He opened up about losing friendships and witnessing the diminishing support from those around him.

He expressed the pain of no longer being a TV journalist, saying, “Feels so bad to call myself a former TV journalist. I am in a problem, but I don’t want to also look as if I am begging.”

Adding to his struggles, Mbugua revealed that he is currently homeless after the individuals who had previously offered him shelter told him to seek accommodation elsewhere.

He says, “I was in the hospital since last week, and I feel my mind is back to normal, and I don’t want to go back to the place where I used to be. So, I am homeless, and the people I was living with said they could not host me any longer.”

In just one week since leaving the hospital, he has formulated a business plan and a proposal for a potential client, complete with a company structure. He expressed his need for a business partner who can invest in his idea.

Kimani Mbugua extended an earnest appeal to anyone willing to offer support.

He provided an email address, [email protected], for those who may want to reach out to him directly. He concluded, “I am healing, and I am taking each day at a time to try and form my company since I have so many debts. You can host me, and any help would be greatly appreciated.”
