Khaligraph Jones has trashed Sauti Sol’s bid to sue Raila Odinga over copyright infringement for use of the song “Extravaganza” without consent.
The group has caused a lot of fuss demanding that Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party to pay them for using their song on May 16th during the unveiling of Martha Karua as Raila’s running mate.
Sauti Sol has threatened to institute legal action against Raila and his coalition as they demand compensation for using their song.
However, Khaligraph Jones has sharply differed with Sauti Sol on suing Raila for playing their song during a political function.
Speaking during an interview on Ramogi TV, the rapper said for him he thinks politicians playing songs during political rallies benefits musicians more.
Khaligraph took subliminal shots at Sauti Sol as he announced that he was giving everyone and anyone the permission to play his songs anywhere without the fear of a lawsuit.
The rapper nonetheless noted that Sauti Sol reserve the right to sue for their song but stressed that for him anyone should feel free to play his song anywhere as much as they want.
“For me chezeni wimbo yangu kila mahali bana, me I just want my music to be played. I believe for other people they don’t have the same mind set. Of course they have every right to take action and do whatever they want to do but for me play my song. For me just play it where you can no one is going to come and take you to court,” Khaligraph Jone insisted.
