“I did it 6 years ago, the OG shall be respected,” Khaligraph Jones brags.
Artists often find inspiration in each other’s work and often stories about who copied who take center stage often. However, there are times when similarities between songs and performances can lead to controversy and debates within the music industry.
Recently, Kenyan rapper Khaligraph Jones made headlines after dissing the whole of Tanzania Hip-hop industry.
The OG now claims, Diamond Platnumz copied his iconic “coffin entry” over the weekend at Wasafi Festival.
The “coffin entry” refers to a dramatic and attention-grabbing stage entrance where an artist makes a grand appearance, often mimicking the act of rising from a coffin.
Music fans argue it’s a Freemasonry act meant to declare and show allegiance as a member of the secret society. Others believe it’s satanic and a pro Illuminati show.
Diamond Platnumz, on the other hand, is no stranger to making headlines for his extravagant stage performances and entrances. As one of Africa’s most celebrated artists, his shows are known for their high energy and captivating theatrics. Khaligraph Jones has accused Diamond Platnumz of imitating his coffin entry, which he did six years ago.
Khaligraph Jones took to social media, sharing video clips of both his and Diamond Platnumz’s coffin entries side by side.
In the video, it’s clear that there are striking similarities between the two performances. Both artists emerge from a coffin, although the OG’s is real while Diamond’s is made of rough pieces of wood.
All this was meant to create a dramatic and suspenseful moment that electrifies the audience.
