Kenya has lost a number of its musicians in road accidents, something which has left their fans not only demoralized but also in pain.
In most cases, these celebrities have always died almost instantly following grisly road accidents.
The following is the list of the musicians who have lost their lives in road accidents:
1). John De Mathew
The late John De Mathew was one of the most highly regarded Kikuyu benga singer who was listened to by both his tribe and those outside.
However, the people’s darling never lived to see beyond 2019 after he was involved in a tragic road crash along Thika Super Highway at Blue Post. He died on A Sunday (August 18).
Apparently, De Mathew was pronounced dead at Thika Nursing Home after he rammed onto a lorry on his way from a fundraising to support a fellow musician.
2). Amon Kipkurui (Rhino Kaboom)
The 27 year old Kalenjin musician died in October 2020 after his motorbike collided head on with a Toyota Probox at Emining-Eldama-Ravine road. He died on the spot following the collision.
3). Seven musicians from Kenene international band.
This was a well known Kalenjin music group. They died on Saturday night in a grisly road accident at Maraba near Total along Nakuru-Eldoret highway at around 7:30Pm after their probox collided head on with a lorry.
