Pastor Ezekiel was blocked from accessing Kilifi as police mounted roadblocks and searched all vehicles.
Police on Thursday October 5, 2023, for the second time in a week, stopped a five-day mega crusade that the preacher had planned to host along the Kilifi-Mombasa highway.
Police last week claimed they could not allow the crusade to take place at Kwa Kenga wa Mumba farm in Mwezang’ombe area since they had not been informed within the legally required time.
Pastor Ezekiel was to hold his crusade from last week, Wednesday, September 27, to Sunday, October 1, but postponed it to this week after police advised him to notify them on time.
In a charitable move, the church went ahead to distribute food donations of maize flour, beans and cooking oil prior to the crusade, which then started on Wednesday.
On Thursday morning, the Kilifi North Sub County Police Commander wrote a letter to the Pastor Ezekiel, informing him that his request to hold the crusade had been declined because of security issues.
The Pastor Ezekiel was forced to preach at night after police blocked him from accessing Kilifi for the planned crusade.
Speaking during his night sermon, Pastor Ezekiel wondered what he had done wrong that police are frustrating and harassing him in his own country.
“It is very painful to go through this in your country. I have never talked what I go through. Today I was not even allowed to reach Kilifi, there was a police barricade before the bridge and every vehicle is being searched just for Ezekiel not to step on Kilifi. It’s not good on your land. Searching every vehicle so that pastor Ezekiel cannot reach Kilifi. Kenya what did I do wrong to you? I preach to you in the open, every day our services are live. Why do you have to block the road just for me not to go and preach, and search every,” Pastor Ezekiel lamented.
