In a poignant and moving ceremony at JCC Paradise in Kiambu yesterday, Reverend Kathy Kiuna paid a heartfelt tribute to her late husband, Bishop Allan Kiuna.
The emotional service saw Reverend Kiuna make a vow to carry on her husband’s legacy and continue their shared work, ensuring that their vision and mission live on.
Speaking with tears in her eyes, Reverend Kiuna described Bishop Kiuna as not only her husband but also her best friend. The couple had been married for almost 30 years and had a deep and abiding love for each other.
“He loved me loudly and openly,” she said, her voice cracking with emotion. “And I loved him with all my life.”
Reverend Kiuna spoke about the significant role her husband played in her life, particularly in her ministry. She recalled how he encouraged and supported her every step of the way, urging her to pursue her passion for preaching.
“You raised me well,” she said. “I did not even know I could preach. But you saw it, honey. And you said, ‘You can do this.’ You called it out. And I have been doing that with you urging me every step of the way.”
The reverend went on to make a promise to her late husband, vowing to continue their shared work and ensure that their vision is carried out.
“Look what the Lord has done,” she said. “I just want to tell you, honey, we will make you proud. That he who began the good work in us is faithful to complete it… We will make you proud, honey.”
The ceremony was attended by friends, family, and fellow church members who came to pay their respects to Bishop Kiuna.
Reverend Kiuna’s emotional tribute was a testament to the deep love and respect she had for her husband, and it was clear that his legacy will live on through her continued work and dedication.
