Gengetone group Sailors has been caught in a web of lies in a desperate bid to turn public opinion in their favor, and demonize Mwalimu Rachel.
The fate of Sailors became a subject of interest on social media this January 2022 after a curious fan sought to inquire why the music group has been so quiet.
“Na kwani sailors waliendanga wapi, hata concert ama ngoma hakuna any, wanaonekana?(Where did Sailors go, not even a concert or music)” a fan asked.
Through an Instagram post, a seemingly agitated Sailors’ Peter Miracle Baby responded by saying that no one should ever ask him such stupid questions since the whole word just watched them as everything was taken away from them.
“Na hii swali ya ufala msee asiwai niuliza tena… World mzima ilikua na ikaona tukinyanganywa vitu zetu zotee including: Account zetu, Doo zetu , Deals za mamilioni zikapingwa na mnajua nani aliduu ivo… But ikanyamaziwa!!! Sioni tukisaidiana na maswali za ufala nkt!!!” (The whole world watched and witnessed as everything was taken away from us, including our accounts, our money and our deals which were worth millions. And everyone knows who did this to us, and no one said a thing. We will not help each other with stupid questions nkt!!!)” Miracle Baby said.
Miracle Baby said that everything including their bank accounts, their money, their you tube account and deals were taken away by their former manager Mwalimu Rachel.
This brought in the discussion of what they had in their agreement with Mwalimu Rachael.
Even though details of the contract was not released, one thing that remains to be true is that Sailors went against terms and conditions of their contract and had deals outside their arrangement with Mwalimu Rachel.
But apart from the contract, Miracle Baby lied about a few other things to seek public sympathy.
He said Mwalimu Rachel took over their bank account. When one opens a bank account with the bank, the account can only be operated by the owner of the account.
If the account has a non agent introduced to the account, it means that before any transaction by the non agent goes through, the main account owner is called to confirm.
Miracle Baby lied that their accounts were taken because banks don’t share or allow third parties to operate other people’s accounts.
Miracle Baby also said their deals worth millions of shillings were also stolen. This is another big lie, the manager gets the deal and not the music group.
Mwalimu Rachael was doing her best to get Sailors as many deals as possible. Sailors have had very few shows ever since they parted ways with Mwalimu Rachel.
No one took away their deals only that the person who was getting the deals for them dropped them. They went out and got a different manager who could not even put a single track on the chats in Kenya.
Rachel cut all ties with the ‘Wamlambez’ hit makers in 2019, a move that doomed the music career of the Gengetone music group.
Mwalimu Rachel issued a statement indicating that she would no longer book Sailors for any gigs in a post on social media.
The media personality further said she will instead focus on introducing new talents through her company MRX Media.
“We are pleased to have played a major Role in the Building of the Brand and proud of our people in amplifying the voice of the Kenyan Youth. As we expand, Sailors 254 will no longer be represented by Us, and we cannot wait to introduce fresh, brilliant Talent to the world moving forward,” she said in the post.
Rachel, who managed Sailors for over two years, fell out with the group in 2019 and held on to all the passwords to their social media platforms.
Mwalimu Rachel said Sailors went behind her back when she was their manager at the time and joined another record label after all she had done for them.
She said she only discovered Sailors’ back stabbing move at the time the boys demanded details pertaining their social media account.
Mwalimu Rachel says she met the ordeal with much regret because she spent more than 1.5 million on Sailors only for them to go against the terms of their contract.
