“You cry because you think you can own a man!” Karen Nyamu says. “Hio entitlement mnakuanga nayo over a man sinanga!”
Karen Nyamu has now expressed a newfound understanding regarding entitlement in relationships. Karen responded to a Facebook user’s comment by emphasizing the impracticality of women feeling entitled to their partners.
The comment in question arose in the context of the ongoing saga surrounding Samidoh and his wife, Edday Nderitu.
Edday, known for frequently using the hashtag “#Nothingbutprayers” on her social media accounts, has employed the phrase as a reflection of the marital difficulties that captured public attention.
Sensing a connection to Edday’s situation, the Facebook user mentioned Karen’s association with the hashtag.
“Inakaa mhesh pia ameingia team #nothingbutprayers,” he asked Karen Nyamu.
In her response she says, “Hio entitlement mnakuanga nayo over a man sinanga. You cry because you think you can own a man, you cannot. Mimi nimemaliza kuza yeye ndio anananza.”
Karen promptly dismissed any notions of entitlement over her romantic partner, Samidoh. She acknowledged the futility of attempting to control or possess another individual, stating that such an entitlement is simply not within her realm.
Karen went on to suggest that while she has completed her journey of giving birth, Samidoh is seemingly just beginning his own, which means he’s free to do it with anyone else he loves.
Karen’s statement serves as a refreshing departure from the common narrative of possessiveness and control that can often pervade discussions surrounding relationships. For instance, Karen Nyamu found herself in Edday Nderitu and Samidoh’s marriage and things went they way they are.
While it is unclear whether Karen’s newfound perspective is a direct result of her experiences or a broader realization, her words resonate with the growing movement toward equality and mutual respect in relationships.
Edday went to America with her kids months ago and it’s not known if she has plans to return.
According to her, she is not open to or willing to be in a polygamous marriage sharing her husband, Samidoh; Karen Nyamu is okay with it and actually says, she wishes one day their prayer will be answered, and they’ll be one big family.
