2022 presidential candidate prof. George Wajackoya has weighed in on the matter involving Tanzanian Bongo star Diamond and his ‘father’ Mzee Abdul Juma.
Speaking to Tanzania’s Clouds TV, Wajackoya said that Diamond’s case is not different from his and that he should make peace with his dad before it is too late.
“No matter how rich he is, he should ask me. I was like Diamond. I had rejected my father after he separated with my mother but I went and talked to him and he gave me a place where I buried him decently after he passed away and all the grace came.
“Tell Diamond that the grave is richer than him. He should not wait until the time he will be buried. God will ask him one thing, ‘Did you have parents and where were you?’,” the Roots party leader said.
He further said that he was willing to pay for Diamond’s transport cost so that he can just talk to him about the matter.
Wajackoya however said that he will take responsibility of taking care of Mzee Abdul if Diamond refuses completely to forgive his father.
“I am asking Diamond to come to me so that we can talk. I will pay an air ticket for him. If he wants us to meet in New york, I am capable. He should deal with his father’s issue, they should talk. If he doesn’t want, I will call the old man to Kenya and stay with him and ask for forgiveness on his behalf,” said Wajackoya.

Diamond disowned Abdul in 2021 saying that he is not his biological father. According to him, his biological father is the late Mzee Nyange. He added that Mzee Abdul abandoned them after learning the truth.
