Gospel artist Justina Syokau is having it rough on social media thanks to her song Twendi Twendi Thili’ where she sings about kupanuliwa a word many kenyans have misinterpreted from the song.
Speaking during a recent interview with tabloids, Justina Syokau blamed kenyans for sexualizing the word, making it hard to understand the original message in the song and now she wants to quit singing. Addressing the kupanuliwa bit, Justina said;
Kuhusu kupanuliwa ahhh… wakati watu wanaongea pale nje kuhusu kupanuliwa, wale watu hawako kiroho ndo hawaelewi the word kupanuliwa ni nini. Mtu ambaye ako kwa mwili ata ukimuelezea kupanuliwa na kumwagiwa baraka na Mungu yeye mind yake inaenda mbali lakini mimi niliimba wimbo nkiwa rohoni. Nlikua studio nko ribaha ndelebo.
The artist went on to add that the current trolls are aimed at destroying her music career,
Nashindwa kwa nini hamntakii mazuri, kwa nini hamtaki kuona nkiendelea? Nkiimba furahieni. Munataka niwafanyie nini watu wa Kenya? I am struggling, I am praying every day to get content to put across there. I am begging you to give me jobs.. Munaendelea kunitusi.
For this reason, she is now opting to continue her ministry business by starting an online church, saying;
2023 is the last song am releasing because the trolls have become too much, I am now starting a church I will be going live on my Facebook page to preach and prophecy.
