Citizen TV was forced to fire Joshua Makori Ongechi over gross misconduct.
The station sacked Makori sometime in 2021 after multiple complaints were filed against him.
Makori was fired from Citizen TV for allegedly extorting money from former West Pokot governor John Lonyangapuo.
He was accused of preparing a video purportedly produced by Citizen TV which he allegedly used to solicit money from Lonyangapuo.
The former Citizen TV reporter was also accused of visiting a school in pursuit of a story of students being fed expired food and soliciting money from the management of the institution.
Royal Media Service (RMS) stated that the Makori violated the Employment Act and thus terminated his services.
Makori fully ventured into agricultural produce business after he was sacked from Citizen TV.
He sells fruits and other agricultural produce such as tomatoes, avocados, bananas that he orders from Kisii and sells in Nairobi.
